Fahmida Jeerooburkhan

Fahmida started her law studies with a DEUG in law (Université de la Réunion) and one year later she continued with an LLB (Hons) at the University of Mauritius. She did her Bar Vocational Course at the Council of Legal Education in Mauritius and was called to the Bar in January 1992. She joined the Chambers of Sir Hamid Moollan QC, in private practice before serving as a District Magistrate.

In July 1999, Fahmida joined Gamma Civic Ltd as In-house Lawyer and moved to Gamma Corporate Services Ltd in July 2015, where she holds the position of Managing Director. She has attended several training programmes relating to mediation & arbitration, contracting (FIDIC), a certificate in Construction Law & Management (City & Guilds), Human Resource Management and the Mauritius Institute of Directors (MIOD) Development programme. She is a member of the Mauritius Bar Council and the MIOD. In October 2019, Fahmida has been awarded the FT NED Diploma (Financial Times Non-Executive Director Diploma).
