As part of its long-term roadmap toward sustainable and innovative construction, Kolos Cement Ltd. proudly partnered with the CEDTI Colloquium 2025, held from November 18th to 21st at the Institut Français de Maurice.
Under the theme “Living on the Edge: Coastal Transitions in the Indian Ocean,” the event united researchers, architects, and urban planners in a shared effort to reimagine how island nations can adapt to the realities of climate change.
Through this partnership, Kolos sponsored the “Reshaping the Edge” design competition, which invited participants to develop climate-resilient housing prototypes for the vulnerable coastal village of Bel Ombre. This initiative reflects the company’s broader commitment to practical innovation and sustainable urban planning ensuring that construction evolves in harmony with both people and the environment.

This focus directly aligns with Kolos’ sustainability roadmap, which is anchored on three strategic pillars:
- Sustainable innovation, exemplified by the launch of its new low carbon Cement, designed to improve durability while reducing the environmental footprint of modern construction.
- Resilient infrastructure, fostering building practices that can withstand environmental challenges.
- Community partnership, empowering collaboration between academia, industry, and society to drive meaningful transformation.
By supporting the CEDTI Colloquium, Kolos positioned itself at the intersection of research, innovation, and sustainable development, reinforcing its vision to be a key enabler in “Bâtir l’île Maurice de demain” building the Mauritius of tomorrow.
