Trail d’Ibity 2025: Running for Resilience and Nutrition

10 April 2025

The ninth edition of the Trail d’Ibity was held on 6 April 2025 in the spectacular Ibity Massif New Protected Area (NAP), 25 km south of Antsirabe. Drawing both amateur and professional runners, the event featured three distances (3 km, 15 km, and 31 km) and once again highlighted the strong connection between sport and social purpose.

Organised in collaboration with the Missouri Botanical Garden, the Commune of Ibity, Ortan, Ortvak, Flower Palace, the Vakinankaratra Athletics League, Ortana, and the Red Cross, this year’s edition continued to grow in scale and impact.

The event was officially launched with a press conference hosted at Alpha Ciment’s headquarters in Tsaralalàna, reaffirming the company’s long-standing support. Runners were fuelled and cheered on thanks to the generosity of official sponsors including Alpha Ciment, TotalEnergies, Yas, Materauto, Uper U, Mini Prix, and Coca-Cola.

Silver sponsors such as Colas, Chryso, Mvola, Socolait, Ligne Scandinave, and Willy Trans, alongside donors like BMOI, MCB, and Nutrizaza, also played a key role in making the event a success.

More than just a race, the Trail d’Ibity served as a meaningful act of solidarity. Proceeds after expenses were donated to the Ibity Nutrition Centre, supported by Antenna Madagascar, to help children suffering from chronic malnutrition. As a token of achievement, every finisher received a commemorative medal, a symbol of effort, endurance, and shared purpose.

With growing participation from both local communities and international residents in Madagascar, the 2025 edition strengthened the trail’s identity as a celebration of resilience, unity, and giving back.

Alpha Ciment’s CEO, Vincent Blanchet, expressed his pride in the partnership:

“This trail represents a meaningful commitment. We are proud to be a long-time partner, because sport brings people together.”
