I joined the Gamma family in 1988 through Corona Stone Crusher, which was managed by the late Fen Tze Ah Teck. After missing out on a scholarship, Tommy Ah Teck, our present Executive Chairman, saw my potential and encouraged me to pursue ACCA while working for the company. I started as an accounts clerk at Gamma Construction and moved to Kemp Chatteris Deloitte in 1992 to complete my professional qualification and broaden my knowledge of different industries. After qualifying, I returned to Gamma in 1996.
Today, I serve as Deputy CFO, but really, I wear many hats. I am responsible for financial reporting, handle tax affairs, oversee payments and assist in projects among others. I also assist the Gamma Corporate team with company secretarial matters. After so many years here, I’ve gained a deep understanding of the business. I’m someone the team can rely on.
Coming from a humble background, family values are central to me. Gamma embodies that spirit. Gamma’s guiding principles aren’t just words. We care about people here. We don’t see means to an end; we see human beings. We listen and we support.
I will forever remember the launch of the cement plant. Being part of Kolos Cement’s launch was a major milestone for us. Breaking the cement market monopoly was a bold move, and I’m proud to have contributed to this milestone in the Mauritian landscape, even behind the scenes.

I joined Gamma in 2018 following an application for a vacant position for a Development Manager, which required an RICS chartership. I had just completed my chartership a few days before the vacancy was advertised. The timing was perfect. After having spent 4 years as Development Executive at Medine Property, I decided to move to Gamma to start a new growth chapter in my career. In December 2024, my role evolved into that of Head of Real Estate. With the team expanding, I now focus on strategy and asset management across the group’s portfolio.
Gamma is an undisputed leader in the construction sector. It is a household name. Its legacy, reputation, and status as a listed company made it an easy decision for me. Having worked for both a family business and a listed company in the past, I did not have any apprehension joining Gamma, which has family values and yet, a robust corporate governance framework.
In the past, Gamma has developed real estate projects on an ad hoc basis. These include Hilton Mauritius Resort and Spa, Standard Chartered Tower, and Huawei House, amongst others. As a vertically integrated group, from supply of building materials to contracting, the natural evolution was towards Real Estate development. Today, Real Estate development is formally part of the Group’s growth strategy. With other clusters within the group already mature, this new cluster will enable continued growth of the Group in Mauritius.
It is a privilege to be given this responsibility within the Group. I have a very strong sense of responsibility. Whether in personal or professional life, when someone relies on me, I do my very best to meet expectations.

My story is one of steady growth and deep commitment. I began my journey in 2007 as an intern at Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa, part of the Gamma Group. Following my internship, I was given the opportunity to work part-time in the HR department while completing my degree. It was an early opportunity that allowed me to learn every facet of HR. After more than a decade developing my expertise in learning and development, talent management and HR operations at Hilton, in 2019 I took the next step in my career – I joined Gamma Civic Ltd as HR, Talent and Development Manager. In this role, I drive key HR initiatives for Gamma Civic and affiliated entities under the leadership of Gamma HR Advisor to the Executive Chairman, collaborating closely with HR teams across the Group on shared projects and strategic development programmes.
The People and the Purpose. Gamma has evolved tremendously, but its family spirit and shared guiding principles remain constant. It’s a place where trust, collaboration and respect guide how we grow and work together.
The motto, “Dare to Dream,” isn’t just a slogan; it reflects who we are. We’re encouraged to think boldly, challenge norms and pursue excellence while staying true to our values.

For me, I would say Loyalty and Sincerity. These are principles which have always resonated with me on a personal level and which I see embodied and lives professionally at Gamma. In life and also in HR, sincerity builds trust, while loyalty sustains relationships. These values have guided me throughout my career and continue to shape how I lead and interact with others.
That said, I truly believe all seven guiding principles are interlinked, each reinforcing the other and together forming the foundation of who we are at Gamma. As an HR professional, I see how Trust & Respect, Discipline & Hard work, Courage, Fairness, Reputation and Strong Value Creation come together to define our culture and the way we grow as one team.
I find great fulfillment in seeing people grow and succeed in their roles, when their enthusiasm for their work continues to shine through. I believe that when people are genuinely engaged and aligned with what they do, their contribution is both meaningful and impactful. Encouraging that sense of purpose and motivation is one of the most rewarding parts of my role.
I also take pride in seeing collaborative projects, especially HR initiatives, come to life successfully. When a project that required collective effort goes live and receives positive feedback, it’s a clear sign that the team’s dedication and hard work have made a real difference.
Outside of my formal responsibilities, one project that remains closest to my heart is our partnership through the Gamma Foundation, with a nursery and pre-primary school in Bambous, which supports children from vulnerable communities. This initiative is particularly meaningful to me because it reflects Gamma’s belief that education is the key to a better tomorrow. Contributing to a cause that empowers young minds and helps create lasting social impact beyond the workplace is deeply fulfilling.
