Chief Financial Officer

Kavi Baboolall has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer in September 2023.

Kavi is a seasoned finance professional with over 20 years of experience. From 2003 to 2012, he worked in England and has gained extensive exposure to the UK banking sector, where he spent 2 years running his own company, advising investment banks. In 2013, he joined Gamma Civic Ltd as Chief Financial Performance Officer and he also double hatted as interim CFO at Gamma Construction Ltd during part of his tenure. Thereafter, Kavi spent 8 years with the SBM Group, where he was the Group Chief Strategy & Projects Officer since September 2021 and the Head of Project Implementation & Capital Management for SBM Holdings Ltd before then. From September 2017 to March 2019, he also double hatted as Acting CFO for SBM bank (Mauritius) Ltd. He has led the overseas expansion of the Group in Kenya and India and launched the SBM Group’s Sustainability Agenda. Kavi served as Director in several entities of the Group and was a Councillor on the SBM Foundation, the CSR arm of the SBM Group.

He has a BSc Accounting & Finance and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
